In an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi has launched the company’s first smart home product – Mi Air Purifier 2 in India at a price tag of Rs. 9,999. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 will be available from September 26th, at 2:00 P.M. on Mi.com and later on it will be available on Flipkart starting from October 2nd. The replacement filter cost Rs. 2,499, and the filter has a lifespan of 6-months.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with a triple layer filter and the triple layer fitted in a cylindrical shape for 360-degree filtering. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 features a PET pre-filter, an EPA filter, and activated carbon filter. The Mi Air Purifier 2 controlled via Mi Home app and the app available for Android & iOS. Apart from remote access to the Wi-Fi connected air purifier, the app lets users also share control with other users (specifically family members).
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier has three modes of operation – auto, night (sleep), and manual. The Mi Home app also provides real-time air quality monitoring for the home and includes statistics like humidity and temperature. Apart from regulating fan speed, users can also set timer schedules for the Mi Air Purifier 2 via the app, and the app also provides reminders to change the filter.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 measures 520x240x240mm and weighs 4.8kg including the filter.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 has Smart Learning and it learns daily patterns & remembers your preferred settings. The company also says that it is 11 percent quieter with the lowest noise level of 30dB and it is 58 percent more power efficient compared to its predecessor. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 promises to remove 99.99% of PM2.5 particles and producing 10,000 liters of Clean Air Delivery at a rate of 330 cubic meters per hour in standard more & 338 cubic meters per hour in active mode. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 has the new air pressurization system that includes axial fan, brushless CD motor and a Francis Fan design and conical duct.
The company has also updated the MIUI 8 weather app and it includes real-time quality index (AQI) data for India. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
