Glenfiddich India has launched “The Mavericks” a virtual reality distillery experience. This is the first time in India that Glenfiddich has organized a distillery tour with a difference for whisky enthusiasts. Now whisky enthusiasts can visit the famous Glenfiddich Dufftown distillery using the ground breaking virtual reality technology. In addition to this, Glenfiddich has partnered with NDTV Good Times for a short series – “The Mavericks”. The Mavericks is a three-part series which starts from 3rd of September 2016 at 10:00 P.M. and the subsequent episodes will be aired on 10th & 17th September.

The VR experience is called as “Journey into the Mind of the Malt Master”. According to Glenfiddich India, it’s an ambitious project which immerses viewers, no matter where they are in the world, into the heart and soul of the Glenfiddich distillery, highlighting the mastery and craft of single malt whisky production. With virtual distillery tour, users can take 360° journey and start by soaring above the Speyside countryside and from there they are plunged into the distillery. They are given a unique perspective from inside a mash fun, steaming copper pot stills slide past, fermenters drop down and thousands of casks in the warehouse build up around them. Hosted by a charming Scottish guide, the iconic Glenfiddich stag makes a memories appearance or two.
Talking about the series, the series brings the story of the maverick whisky makers of the Dufftown, from the Scottish Highlands. In this series, Rahul takes the viewers through the journey of the William Grant and Gordon family into making Glenfiddich as the finest whisky the world has ever known.
